Forearm dumbbells
The forearm is the anatomical area that goes from the elbow to the wrist. It is one of the four that make up the upper body, the shoulder, the arm, the forearm and the hand. The forearm is made up of a significant number of muscles, some act on the hand and others on the ulnar-radial joint.
Basically we have the pronator / supinator muscles and the flexor / extensor muscles of the wrist.
In many sports it is obvious or little work is done on these muscles, which are always active when doing any other action with the shoulder or arm muscles if weight is carried, in this case it is true because we will work with the dumbbells. But in the routines or in the bodybuilding tables with hypertrophy or toning goals it is important that they have their own bodybuilding work, so that these (less important muscles) are not the ones that prevent the development of the largest ones. For example, when performing standing biceps with dumbbells, the muscles of the forearms bear great loads, if the wrist gives way before the biceps it can be a major limitation when it comes to biceps hypertrophy.
Exercises of flexion and extension of the wrist with dumbbells or with a bar, in pronation and in supination are the basic exercises of the forearm. With these exercises, the progressivity of the load and the correct planning of the weight training table is important to avoid overloading in this area.
