Shoulder dumbbells
Dumbbell exercises for shoulders
The shoulder can be understood as an anatomical area, which goes from the neck to the beginning of the arm and which joins the limb or also as the glenohumeral joint.
The shoulder as an anatomical area is made up of the joints of the shoulder girdle, the glenohumeral joint and the deltoid, trapezius and rotator cuff muscles. Although all the texts do not disagree on this, some do not include the muscles of the posterior part, such as the supraspinatus, subscapularis and infrascapularis.
The shoulder in sport, when designing its exercises, includes all the muscles that act on these joints. These muscles range from the brachialis (biceps and triceps) to those located in the anterior pectoral area.
The exercises that are on this page are all those that act in one way or another on the shoulder as an anatomical area and as a sum of joints.
The shoulder in sport
Few are the sports in which some shoulder muscle is not primary in a motor action. Any sport that requires movements of the upper body, the shoulder will need a special job. Even in running sports, such as short athletics events, where a strong shoulder is required to control coordinated arm movements and does not produce âTâ movements. It's easy to see sprinting runners with almost bodybuilding shoulders.
